Wall-mounted acrylic collection boxes for charities

About this piece

The unit is built in two levels. A tall clear back panel has six clear pockets for printed panels, and a row of six clear compartments runs below them. Every compartment has a sloping front with a slot for coins and notes, and the money stays in view behind the clear walls. The compartments sit on a grey base that carries a logo along its front.

Collection boxes like these belong where many people pass or wait: airport halls, railway stations, shopping centres, museums and hospital foyers. One wall unit lets several charities share a single, tidy spot instead of loose boxes competing on counters, and the clear walls show passers-by that people do give. Each panel sits in a pocket, so a cause can be replaced without replacing the box.

For a unit of your own, the acrylic parts are laser-cut to a drawing made for your space, and a base or frame in steel or wood can be made in the same workshop. You choose how many compartments it has, the size of each printed panel and the artwork on it, and whether it hangs on a wall or stands on a counter. One unit or a series for several sites can be made, with a prototype first.

Questions

Can each charity have its own compartment and panel?

Yes. Each compartment has its own slot, and the panel above it carries that charity's printed artwork, so donations stay separate. The number of compartments follows how many causes you want to show, from two or three to a full row.

Does it have to hang on a wall?

No. The same idea works on a counter or on a freestanding base. Wall or counter is a choice we settle in the drawing, and you see the result in 3D on a private page before anything is made.
