1. Who we are and what these terms cover

White Nordic is a trade name of SIA "Black line", a company registered in Latvia and operating a custom furniture production workshop in Riga. In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean SIA "Black line".

These terms apply to enquiries and orders made through whitenordic.com, by email, or in any other way we agree work with you. By sending us an enquiry or accepting a quotation, you accept these terms.

We work with both private customers (consumers) and businesses. Some sections below apply only to one or the other, and say so clearly.

2. Enquiries, quotations and when a contract is formed

Submitting a form on this website, or emailing us, is an enquiry — not an order. Nothing on this website is a binding offer to sell.

After your enquiry we will send you a written quotation covering the specification, price, and expected lead time. A contract is formed only when you accept that quotation in writing (email is sufficient) and, where an advance payment applies, when that payment is received.

Quotations are valid for 30 days unless stated otherwise. Where a design has to be developed before a firm price is possible, we will say so and quote in stages.

3. Custom-made goods

Almost everything we make is manufactured to the customer's own drawing, specification or dimensions. This has consequences you should understand before ordering.

• We build to the specification agreed in writing. Please check dimensions, materials and finishes carefully before approving — once production begins, changes may not be possible or may carry additional cost.
• Where we prepare a design, drawing or visualisation for you, we will ask you to approve it before cutting. Your approval is what we build to.
• Wood is a natural material. Grain, colour and figure vary between boards and between batches, and timber moves slightly with humidity. Reasonable variation of this kind is a property of the material, not a defect.
• Where a sample or prototype has been approved, the production run will match it as closely as the material allows.

4. Prices, payment and VAT

Prices are quoted in euro (EUR). Unless the quotation says otherwise, prices exclude delivery, installation, and any duties or taxes payable outside Latvia.

We are registered for VAT in Latvia under LV44103147647. VAT is applied according to Latvian and EU law: for business customers in another EU member state who provide a valid VAT number, the reverse-charge procedure may apply.

For custom work we normally require an advance payment before production begins, with the balance due before dispatch. The exact terms appear on your quotation and invoice. Late payments may incur statutory interest.

5. Lead times and delivery

Lead times given in a quotation are our honest estimate based on the workshop's schedule and material availability. They are not guaranteed dates unless we expressly agree a firm deadline in writing.

We will tell you promptly if a delay arises. Delivery, where arranged by us, is quoted separately; risk passes to you on delivery. Please inspect goods on arrival and report any transport damage to us and the carrier without delay.

6. Cancellation and returns — private customers (consumers)

Where we supply a standard, non-personalised item from stock, the ordinary 14-day right of withdrawal applies: you may cancel within 14 days of receiving the goods by telling us at [email protected], and return them in unused condition. Return shipping is at your cost unless the goods were faulty or incorrectly supplied.

Before production begins on a custom piece, you may ask us to cancel. If we have already bought materials or done work, we may charge a reasonable amount to cover it, and we will tell you the figure before you decide.

Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights as a consumer, including your rights if goods are faulty or not as described.

7. Cancellation — business customers

For business customers, the consumer withdrawal right does not apply at all. Orders may be cancelled only by written agreement, and you remain liable for materials purchased and work performed up to the cancellation date. Series orders may be subject to a cancellation schedule set out in the quotation.

8. Faults and warranty

We make furniture to last, and we stand behind our work. If a piece has a manufacturing or material defect, tell us at [email protected] with photographs and your order reference, and we will repair it, replace it, or refund it as appropriate.

Consumers have a statutory two-year guarantee period under Latvian law. For business customers, defects must be reported within a reasonable period after discovery.

The warranty does not cover normal wear, damage from misuse, accident or unsuitable environmental conditions (for example prolonged damp or direct heat), damage caused by unauthorised modification, or the natural variation in wood described in section 3.

9. Your designs and our designs

You keep all rights in the drawings, patterns and designs you send us. We use them only to quote for and manufacture your order, we do not pass them to anyone else except a subcontractor working on your order, and we will not put your design into our own range without your written permission.

By sending us a design you confirm you have the right to have it manufactured. We may decline work that appears to infringe someone else's rights.

Photographs, drawings, visualisations and text created by us remain ours. We may show work we have made in our portfolio and marketing unless you ask us in writing not to.

10. Design visualisations and AI tools

This website offers tools that generate design visualisations. Images produced by these tools, and any visualisation we prepare for you, are illustrations of an idea — they are not photographs of a finished product, and the manufactured piece will differ in detail. Only a written specification, or a sample we have made and you have approved, is binding.

11. Liability

We are liable for foreseeable loss caused by our failure to meet these terms. We are not liable for business losses such as lost profit, lost production or loss of opportunity, and our total liability for an order will not exceed the price paid for that order.

Nothing here excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or a consumer's statutory rights.

12. Complaints and dispute resolution

Please contact us first at [email protected] — most matters are resolved quickly and directly.

Consumers in Latvia may also refer a dispute to the Consumer Rights Protection Centre (Patērētāju tiesību aizsardzības centrs, ptac.gov.lv), and EU consumers may use the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Latvia. Disputes fall to the courts of Latvia. If you are a consumer resident in another EU country, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of your own country.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms; the version in force when your order is confirmed is the version that applies to it. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last changed.
