About this piece
Here the letters themselves stay dark. They are deep shapes in a dark blue-black finish, standing a little off a light wall, and the light comes from behind them, so every letter and the two curved stripes of the mark are outlined by a soft white glow. A smaller line of dark letters below the logo is not lit; those letters simply cast small shadows on the wall.
Lighting from behind suits a reception wall that people see all day, because the glow is soft and the letters keep their own colour, unlike signs whose faces shine. A light, smooth wall works well, as the halo spreads evenly over it, and the glow draws the eye without lighting up the room. Pairing a lit logo with an unlit line below keeps the main mark first and the second line quieter.
Letters like these are cut by laser cutting or CNC milling in our Riga workshop, painted in our own spray room and set on stand-offs, so the light has room to spread behind them. You send the logo; we draw the sign for your wall, and you check it in 3D before anything is made. The letter colour, the depth, the size, which parts are lit and the colour of the glow are your choice.

What is the difference between backlit and face-lit letters?
Face-lit letters shine through their front. Backlit letters, as here, keep a solid front and send the light onto the wall behind, so each shape sits in a halo. We make both kinds and can advise which suits your wall.
Does a backlit logo work on a dark wall?
The halo needs a surface to land on, so it shows up well on a light wall like this one. On a dark wall the glow is weaker, and we may suggest face-lit letters or a light panel behind the logo instead.
