White Nordic is a custom production workshop in Riga, Latvia that makes signs and lettering in wood, metal and plastic. We have been making custom pieces since 1996. The photographs here show completed signs and work on the bench, including wall logos, name plates and tabletop signs.

Start with the mark you want people to read and the place it will occupy. A reception wall, a shop facade and an event counter each give the sign a different background. Send a view of that setting with your artwork so the sign can be discussed in context.

Raised letters and plaques

Raised lettering gives a sign depth as well as colour. The examples include gold-tone letters on dark panels, a curved mirror-finish name plate and a logo cut to its outline. A tabletop version stands in its own base. Consider whether your brief calls for separate letters, a backing panel or a compact plaque.

Illuminated signs

These photographs show several lighting effects: bright letters on a dark office wall, a logo lit from behind and a lit mark on a free-standing pylon. They provide references for the appearance you want. Tell us whether the letters themselves should look bright or whether you prefer light around their edges.

Facade, wall and outdoor signs

Individual letters, script lettering and round pole signs place a name against very different surfaces. Here you can see examples on a rendered facade, a building canopy and a reception wall. Include a photograph of the intended location and say whether the new sign is for an indoor or outdoor setting.

Materials and finishes

We make signs in wood, steel and acrylic, and agree the material with you for the design and the place it will hang. Parts are laser-cut or CNC-milled in our workshop, and painted finishes are sprayed in our own spray room. The photographs show gold-tone and mirror finishes; tell us the look you want and we suggest how to achieve it.

How an order works

  1. Your briefSend the artwork, a drawing or a photo, the size and how many you need.
  2. Drawing and 3D reviewWe draw it to scale, and you check the design from each side on a private page.
  3. Quote and approvalThe cost and the scope are agreed before anything is made.
  4. Made in RigaWe make and assemble your piece in our Riga workshop. For a series, one prototype comes first.

Questions

What artwork should I send for a logo sign?

Send your logo as a vector file if you have one, together with the overall size and exact wording. A photograph of the wall or counter helps explain the background against which the lettering will be seen.

Can I order a single sign?

Yes. There is no minimum order. We make one sign, a prototype or a series. Your drawing and 3D review come before production, and the quote is agreed before anything is made.

Can my sign be illuminated?

Yes, illuminated letters and logos are part of our work. Use the photographs to indicate the effect you have in mind, and tell us where the sign will go. The details are agreed for your design.

Can you make related signs for the rooms inside?

We also make room numbers and wayfinding signs. Send the room names, numbers and directions alongside the main logo so the enquiry covers both the entrance sign and the smaller signs you need.

How do I explain an outdoor sign requirement?

Identify the intended position, the surface behind it and the overall size you have in mind. Include photographs and any drawing you already have. The outdoor examples here are useful references for discussing your particular sign.
