Wooden Christmas hamper chest

AI concept for a wooden Christmas hamper chest that holds a bottle, sealed jars and wrapped treats, then stays in use as storage. For companies, delicatessens, producers and families; our workshop in Riga builds it to order, sized around your bottle and largest jar, with your logo engraved and no year.

The idea images on this page are AI concepts — design ideas, not photos of finished work; final construction and scope are agreed for your project. The photo marked “Real work” is from our workshop.

Our tree-of-life oak chest, built by hand in our workshop in Riga: dovetailed corners, a fitted lid and hand-finished insides — the same joinery and fitting work a presentation box needs.

Decisions to make

Sizing for mixed contents

A hamper is harder to size than a wine box, because the contents vary. Send the sizes of the bottle, the largest jar and the wrapped treats you plan to use; we size the inside around them, with room for wood wool on every side.

Loose wood wool or a fitted insert

The concept shows loose wood wool: quick to pack, and the contents can change each year. A fitted insert holds the bottle and jars in place and looks tidier, but ties you to those sizes. The two can also be combined: an insert for the bottle, with loose wood wool around the jars and treats.

Keeping it useful after Christmas

Engrave only your logo, not a greeting or the year, and put the season's message on a card inside; the chest then works as storage all year. The front latch keeps the lid shut and can be kept or changed.

Suggested uses

Corporate Christmas gifts

A company sending hampers to clients and staff needs one chest size for its chosen bottle, jars and biscuits, with the logo on the lid and every chest made to the same drawing.

Delicatessens filling their own hampers

A delicatessen packs its own hampers and sells the chest with them. Sized to the shop's standard jars and bottles, the chest packs quickly at the counter, and customers take home wood instead of cardboard.

Producers showing a range together

A winery, roaster or tea merchant adds partners' jars and wrapped treats to its own product, making one seasonal set with its mark on the front.

A family hamper that stays

Once emptied, a family's chest stays in the house as a box for toys, photos or next year's decorations.

Materials and options

Materials and finishes

  • Pine (as in the concept)Light and warm, with knots that vary from chest to chest; softer than oak or ash, so it marks more easily.
  • OakHarder and heavier, with a strong grain that suits an engraved logo and a chest clients keep.
  • AshPale like the pine in the concept but harder, with a straighter grain, so the light look wears better.
  • Other speciesBirch and maple are also available for a pale chest with fewer knots than pine; walnut makes the red ribbon stand out. A painted chest, red or green, is possible.

Personalisation

Your logo engraved on the lid or front panel, where it shows when the chest is closed, or inside the lid, seen as the hamper is opened. The concept shows a plain chest; logo size and position are agreed on the drawing.

From request to production

  1. Your briefTell us how you will use it, how many you need and whether you want a logo.
  2. Drawing and 3D reviewReview the design from each side on a private page.
  3. Quote and approvalPrice and scope agreed before anything is made.
  4. Prototype or productionFor a series, one prototype first; a single piece is made once approved.

The drawing lays out the inside around your contents and the wood wool. You pack the prototype with your real bottle, jars and wrapped treats, and check the lid closes over everything before the series.

Questions

Can the chests be sized for our bottle and jars, with our logo?

Yes. Send the bottle's height and diameter and the largest jar's size; we draw the inside to fit, with room for wood wool, and engrave your logo on the lid, the front or inside the lid. Every chest in a series is made to the same drawing, so they all pack the same way.

Do you fill the hampers, or only make the chests?

We build the chest, and a fitted insert if you choose one. The bottle, jars and treats in the concept image show how the chest is used; the contents come from you or your partners, and whether we pack them is agreed per project.

Can each chest carry a recipient's name?

Yes. Send a list, one name per chest. A small engraved name inside the lid or on the front keeps your logo as the main mark, and the names are laid out on the drawing first.
