Wooden advent calendar box with 24 drawers

The idea images on this page are AI concepts — design ideas, not photos of finished work; final construction and scope are agreed for your project. The photo marked “Real work” is from our workshop.

Small, repeated parts like drawer fronts and boxes are cut on the same floor: panel saw, CNC router and benches under one roof in Riga.

Decisions to make

Drawer size starts from the contents

Twenty-four drawers in one box makes each one small, so we start from the largest item: a wrapped chocolate, a tea sachet, a ring box. We set the inside of each drawer around it, and a few drawers can be made larger.

Numbers, names or plain fronts

The concept shows blank fronts with round wooden knobs. They can stay blank, carry engraved numbers 1 to 24 or names, or have the numbers shuffled so children hunt for each one. Your logo engraved on the top works with any of these.

Made to be refilled every year

A box that comes out every December is handled a lot, then stored. On the prototype, filled with your product, you check that every drawer slides freely and every knob holds. We agree the finish with you.

Suggested uses

Chocolate, tea and coffee brands

A chocolate maker puts a wrapped chocolate in each drawer; a tea house or roaster uses sachets, small tins or sample pouches. The box is drawn around a sample of your packed product.

Spirits producers

Twenty-four 5 cl miniatures, one behind each front. A bottle lies deeper than a chocolate, so the drawers and the whole box are drawn around your miniature.

Shops and cafés

The box stands on the counter through December, with one drawer opened with customers each morning, then goes into storage until next year. Tell us the counter space it has to fit and we draw the grid to suit.

Families

A box with a name or year engraved on top, refilled every December with notes, wrapped sweets or small toys.

Materials and options

Materials and finishes

  • Birch (as in the concept)Pale, even and close-grained, so twenty-four small fronts look alike. Available on request.
  • AshPale like birch, with a stronger open grain that can run through small engraved numbers.
  • OakWarmer and heavier, with visible grain; it suits a counter box brought out every year.
  • Other speciesMaple is also available, pale and even like birch; black alder gives a warmer tone. Painted fronts, in one colour or several, are possible. Walnut engraves with less contrast.

Personalisation

Your logo engraved on the top or one side, where it stays visible on a counter or shelf; for a family box, a name, monogram or year. Placement and size are checked on the drawing. The round wooden knobs can be kept or changed.

From request to production

  1. Your briefTell us how you will use it, how many you need and whether you want a logo.
  2. Drawing and 3D reviewReview the design from each side on a private page.
  3. Quote and approvalPrice and scope agreed before anything is made.
  4. Prototype or productionFor a series, one prototype first; a single piece is made once approved.

The drawing shows the grid, the drawer sizes and any engraving around your largest item. On the prototype, filled with your packed product, you open every drawer and check the fronts, knobs and numbering before the series.

Questions

What fits in each drawer of a wooden advent calendar box?

We size the drawers around the contents, not the other way round. Typical fillings are a wrapped chocolate, a tea sachet, a small sample, a folded note or a small toy. Send the largest item or its measurements and the grid is drawn around it.

Can the box hang on a wall instead of standing?

It can be drawn for a wall, with the fixing confirmed per project once we know your wall type and how heavy the filled box will be. A standing box on a counter or shelf needs no fixing. Tell us the wall type with your brief.

Can some drawers be larger than others?

Yes. A deeper bottom row, or one larger drawer for the last of the twenty-four, can be drawn into the grid while the outside stays square. We show the layout on the drawing before anything is cut.

Can a wooden advent calendar box be reused every year?

Yes, that is the reason to make it in wood. A shop or brand brings the same display out each December, and a family keeps it as a tradition; only the contents change.
