About this piece
Cut from wood in the outline of a country, the body has a round frame at one end that holds the clock face. The face is a light disc printed with lettering, a flag and an event name, and a large 1 and an angular shape are cut out of it so the wood behind shows through. Black hands, with a thin second hand, sit at the centre. A second title and the year 2022 are printed in black on the map, a small red dot marks one point on its edge, and the trophy rests on a clear stand.
A map outline ties a trophy to a place before anyone reads the text: a national final, a regional league or a city race can each have its own shape. For an event that moves between venues, a dot or a small cut-out can mark each year's location on the same outline.
Map outlines are cut from wood with CNC milling or laser cutting in our Riga workshop, and clear stands are cut from acrylic in the same place. You choose the outline, the wood, the face artwork, the place numbers and the wording, and the clock can be left out if a plain plaque suits you better. We draw the piece first, and nothing is cut until you have seen it in 3D on a private page and agreed the quote.

Questions
Can the trophy follow the outline of our region or city?
Yes. We can draw the outline of a country, a region, an island or a city boundary from a map and cut it from wood. You see the shape in the 3D drawing and can ask for changes before anything is cut.
Can you mark the venue on the map?
Yes. The trophy in the photo has a small red dot on the edge of the map. A dot, a star, a small cut-out or a line of text can mark the venue, and it goes into the drawing with the rest of the design.
