About this piece
A thick wooden disc with a strong, open grain stands upright in a wooden block. A large red 1 and the words First place are printed at the top, with the grain showing around the letters. Lower down come the event lettering and a line of GPS coordinates, and near the bottom the event name and the year 2020 in dark red. A deep slot is cut into the right-hand side with two narrow cuts below it, and a thin black zig-zag line runs from the slot to the lower edge. A blue acrylic wave is fixed along the bottom of the disc, and the tip of a red acrylic piece shows from behind on the left.
A trophy like this fits a club championship, an open tournament or a season final, where the winner should take home something made for that event and no other. The wood gives it a natural look on a shelf, the coloured acrylic brings in the event's colours, and the printed year and coordinates record when and where the title was won.
We cut shapes like this with laser cutting or CNC milling in our Riga workshop, where wood and acrylic are worked side by side. The outline, the cut-away detail, the wood, the acrylic colours and the wording can all follow your event, from the logo and the date to the place number. You check the drawing in 3D on a private page, and the quote is agreed before anything is cut.

Questions
Can you make matching trophies for second and third place?
Yes. A set for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place is made as one series: the same outline and wood, with the number, the wording and, if you like, the acrylic colour changed for each place. A single trophy is fine too.
Can the trophy be made in a different wood?
Yes. Pine, birch, ash, oak, black alder, maple and walnut are all worked in our Riga workshop, and each gives a different colour and grain behind the printed artwork. Tell us the look you want and we suggest a wood in the drawing.
