About this piece
The letters stand up from a recessed field, each with bevelled sides that throw a small shadow, and several raised ridges step around the field to form the border. Fine tool marks follow the contours of the ridges, and the flat outer edge of the plate is cut straight. Small holes sit near both ends of the plate.
Plates of this kind serve as name and door plates, maker's plates on machines and furniture, plaques on buildings and gates, and marked panels on products. Raised letters stay readable from an angle, and a stepped border frames the text without any separate parts.
We make relief plates like this with CNC milling: the background is cut away, and the letters and border are left standing. You send the text or artwork and the size, we draw the plate for you to check in 3D on a private page, and the quote is agreed before production. The lettering can also be engraved into the surface instead, and the holes go where your fixings need them.

Can the plate have holes for fixing?
Yes. The plate in the photo has small holes near each end. Tell us how and where the plate will be fixed, and we place the holes to suit, or leave them out if you plan to fix it another way.
