Wooden tea chest with six compartments
AI concept for a wooden tea chest with six compartments under a hinged lid, holding sealed tins, pouches or tea bags in envelopes. For tea brands, cafés, hotels and gift buyers; our workshop in Riga builds it to order in oak or another wood, with each compartment sized to your packaging.

Real work from our workshop
Our tree-of-life oak chest, built by hand in our workshop in Riga: dovetailed corners, a fitted lid and hand-finished insides — the same joinery and fitting work a presentation box needs.
Decisions to make
Compartment size for your packaging
Pouches need narrow, deep slots; tins need square cells matched to their diameter; tea bags in envelopes need shallow cells so they lift out. The six cells in the concept could become four for larger tins, or eight or nine for tea bags. Send a sample and we size the cells to it.
Telling six blends apart
Once the lid is up, six similar cells need a way to tell the blends apart. Names can be engraved on the divider tops or as a key inside the lid, which suits a fixed range, or kept on a card you swap when blends change.
A lid that stays open
On a counter the lid must stand open on its own, with a stay, a friction hinge or a lid that lifts off. A gift chest that stays mostly closed needs only the small brass hinges the concept shows. We test the lid on the prototype.

Suggested uses
Tea brand gift sets
A tea brand wants a reusable chest for six blends, each compartment sized to its sealed pouch or tin so nothing rattles, with the logo engraved on the lid.
Café and tea shop counters
A café wants guests to choose from an open chest by the till, so the lid must stand open and the cells be shallow enough to reach into.
Guest rooms and meeting rooms
A hotel or office keeps a chest of tea bags in each room. Cells sized to the bag envelopes let guests pick one, and the lid keeps dust off between guests.
A chest for home
A private customer wants a chest for their own tins or pouches, made to fit a kitchen shelf, perhaps with a name or date engraved as a gift.
Materials and options
Materials and finishes
- Oak (as in the concept)Hard-wearing, suited to a chest opened many times a day, and the wood of our real oak chest.
- WalnutDark and fine-grained, so engraved blend names stay crisp; for a gift chest that should look formal.
- AshPale and tough, lighter in look than oak, with an open grain that shows through a clear finish.
- Other speciesMaple and birch are also available for a pale, close-grained chest, black alder for a warm tone, or a painted outside. Resinous pine carries a scent we discuss first.
Personalisation
Your logo engraved on the lid, or inside it where café guests see it when the chest stands open. A name, date or monogram suits a private gift. Each compartment can carry an engraved blend name, or stay plain so a café can change its teas.

Questions
What size is a wooden tea chest with six compartments?
There is no fixed size. We work out from the tins, pouches or tea bags it must hold and the counter or shelf it will stand on. Send a sample or its measurements and we size each compartment so it fits with the lid closed. A café chest is often shallower than a gift chest, so guests can reach in.
Can one chest hold tins and pouches together?
Yes. The compartments do not have to match: two square cells for tins and four narrow slots for pouches can share one chest. Send one of each and we lay them out on the drawing before anything is cut, with each tin's diameter and each pouch's width marked.
Do you supply the tea or the tins?
No. We make the chest; the tea and its packaging come from you or your supplier, and we size each compartment around the tins, pouches or envelopes you send.
