Oak bench with steel frame
AI concept for a bench with a thick solid oak seat on a slim square black steel frame, shown in a bright tasting-room entrance. For tasting rooms, shops, hallways and waiting areas; our workshop in Riga makes it to order, welding the frame and cutting the oak on one floor, as one bench or a matching series.
The idea images on this page are AI concepts — design ideas, not photos of finished work; final construction and scope are agreed for your project. The photo marked “Real work” is from our workshop.

Real work from our workshop
Seating is made in series in our workshop: these wooden seats were finished as one batch, the way a set of matching benches would be.
Decisions to make
Seat length and height
Length follows the space and how many people sit at once: allow roughly 50 to 60 cm per person. A seat around 45 cm high suits most people sitting; a little lower suits pulling on boots in a hallway. We confirm both on the drawing against your room.
Frame profile and structure
The concept shows slim square tube; a heavier profile looks sturdier, a slimmer one lighter. The frame is confirmed per project for the length and use, and we weld it to fit the seat. Floor glides under the feet help spare wooden or tiled floors.
Wood choice and a series
Choose the seat wood with the floor and the other furniture in mind. For several benches across shops or rooms, the first bench is made and tried before the series, so every bench matches in height, colour and finish.

Materials and options
Materials and finishes
- Oak seat (as in the concept)Thick and hard-wearing, it takes daily sitting and bags dropped on it; we agree a finish that wipes clean.
- Other woods for the seatAsh or maple for a pale room, black alder or walnut for a warmer seat, birch for a light hallway bench.
- Slim black steel frame (as in the concept)Welded from slim square tube in our workshop and painted; a heavier profile looks more solid. Other colours are possible.
Personalisation
Your logo engraved on the front edge or the end of the seat, or a small cut-steel mark on the side of the frame. A home bench can carry initials instead. Position is agreed on the drawing.
From request to production
- Your briefTell us how you will use it, how many you need and whether you want a logo.
- Drawing and 3D reviewReview the design from each side on a private page.
- Quote and approvalPrice and scope agreed before anything is made.
- Prototype or productionFor a series, one prototype first; a single piece is made once approved.
The drawing sets the seat height, length and frame profile against your room. For a series, the first bench is tried in your space, and the rest are made to match it.

Questions
Can the bench have a shelf for shoes or bags?
Yes. A lower shelf in oak, or a slatted steel rack, can be added between the legs at a height that leaves room for boots. The concept shows an open frame; we draw the shelf in before anything is made.
How long can an oak bench on a steel frame be?
There is no single figure. A longer seat needs a thicker board or a third pair of legs, and the frame is confirmed per project for the length and use. Tell us the space and how many people sit at once.
Can the bench match a table we already have?
Yes. It can use the same wood, steel profile and finish as a table, such as our oak dining table concept, so the two sit together. Send photos of the table or furniture to match.
