AI concept · made to order in Riga

Steel wall wine rack

AI concept for a slim steel wall wine rack: black painted rods and frames holding bottles in rows on a plaster wall, with a small oak shelf below for glasses. For wine shops, bars and homes short of floor space; our workshop in Riga makes it to order, with wall type and load confirmed per project.

The idea images on this page are AI concepts — design ideas, not photos of finished work; final construction and scope are agreed for your project. The photo marked “Real work” is from our workshop.

Included:
The painted steel rack made to your wall and your bottles
Optional:
An oak shelf, another painted colour, extra sections, your logo engraved or cut
You supply:
Wall measurements and photos, the wall type, bottle formats and how many

Real work from our workshop

Steel is welded on the same floor as the woodwork, so a steel rack and its oak shelf are made, painted and fitted together in our Riga workshop.

Decisions to make

Label-forward or cork-forward

Label-forward, as in the concept, lays each bottle along the wall with the whole label facing the room, so the rack takes little depth. Cork-forward points bottles out of the wall: more bottles per metre, but a deeper rack and only the capsule on show. One wall can mix both.

The wall and the load

The rack hangs every bottle on the wall, and a full row is heavy. Tell us whether the wall is brick, concrete, timber or plasterboard, and how many bottles each section holds. Wall fixing and load are confirmed per project; if a wall is a poor base, we say so.

Painted colour, and the oak

Black steel with oak is quiet on plaster; a painted colour can match your walls or brand instead. Because the steel and the wood are made on one floor, shelf supports can be welded into the frame and the shelf drawn with it.

Suggested uses

Narrow shops and corridors

Where the aisle is tight, a rack that stands out little more than a bottle's width keeps the floor clear and still shows every label to customers walking past.

Wine bars and restaurant walls

The wines on the current list hang behind the bar or along the dining room, where staff reach them while pouring. The oak shelf below holds glasses or a bottle to try.

Importer showrooms and offices

One bottle of each wine in the range, label out and grouped by producer, so visiting buyers read the whole list from across the room.

A kitchen or dining-room wall at home

A few rows beside the dining table for the bottles in use, rather than a cellar: from one short section upwards.

Materials and options

Materials and finishes

  • Black painted steel (as in the concept)Slim rods and frames, cut and welded in our workshop, then painted. Black recedes against a pale wall, so the bottles lead.
  • Steel painted in another colourWarm white nearly disappears on plaster; a deep green or grey reads as part of the room. We agree the colour from a painted sample.
  • Oak shelf (as in the concept)Solid oak for glasses or a featured bottle. Ash, birch or walnut also suit, chosen to match your counter or floor.

Personalisation

A simple mark cut from steel and fixed to the top frame, or your logo engraved on the front edge of the oak shelf. Rows can carry small producer or region plates. Size and position are agreed on the drawing.

From request to production

  1. Your briefTell us how you will use it, how many you need and whether you want a logo.
  2. Drawing and 3D reviewReview the design from each side on a private page.
  3. Quote and approvalPrice and scope agreed before anything is made.
  4. Prototype or productionFor a series, one prototype first; a single piece is made once approved.

The drawing shows the rows on your measured wall, the depth from the wall and where fixings are planned. For several shops, one section is made first and filled with your own bottles, so you check spacing and reach before the series.

Questions

How deep is a label-forward steel wine rack?

Little more than one bottle's width, because the bottles lie along the wall rather than pointing out of it. The exact depth depends on your bottle formats and the rod spacing, which we set on the drawing from the bottles you send.

Can a steel wine rack hang on a plasterboard wall?

Sometimes. A loaded rack is heavy and plasterboard alone is a weak base, so the fixing usually has to reach studs or solid wall behind it. Fixing and load are confirmed per project, and we say so if the wall does not suit.

How is this different from your oak wine wall?

The wine wall concept is a floor-to-ceiling oak structure with a lit cradle for each bottle. This rack is slimmer: painted steel on the wall, labels to the front, little depth. The two can be combined, since steel and oak are made on our one floor.
