Custom wine wall with lit bottle cradles
AI concept for a custom wine wall: floor-to-ceiling dark-stained oak with individual bottle cradles, warm strip lighting and a tasting counter. For tasting rooms, wine shops and home cellars; our workshop in Riga builds it to order to your measured wall, with lighting and fixing confirmed per project.
The idea images on this page are AI concepts — design ideas, not photos of finished work; final construction and scope are agreed for your project. The photo marked “Real work” is from our workshop.

Real work from our workshop
We built lit bottle-cradle walls, display niches and a central island for a wine boutique in Riga — drawn, cut, stained and test-assembled in our workshop.
Decisions to make
Cradle spacing, angle and reach
We space each row for what you stock: standard, sparkling, magnums or half bottles, lying flat for storage or tilted label-out for display. On a floor-to-ceiling wall, decide early who uses the top rows: staff with a step, or nobody, leaving them for display and reserve stock.
Where the light sits
Strips can run under each cradle row, at the back of each bay or along the frame, and each placement lights the labels differently. We plan channels and cable routes on the drawing; the fittings, wiring and electrical connection are confirmed per project.
How the wall meets the room
Walls are rarely square, so the drawing allows for uneven floors, ceilings, sockets and pipes, with cut-outs where a socket or pipe stays in place. Fitting on site and fixing to the wall are confirmed per project, once we have seen the wall.

Suggested uses
Importer and winery range walls
An importer or winery gives each producer, region or vintage its own lit bay, so visitors read the whole range from the doorway. For pouring across a counter, see our tasting bar concept.
Wine shops and wine bars
Each bottle sits in its own cradle, so customers read the range at a glance and an empty cradle shows staff what to restock. Our interiors page shows a real wine-boutique fit-out with lit cradle walls.
Home cellars and under-stair racks
A home cellar or under-stair space, where the rack works around low beams, uneven plaster or a door; from one bay upwards, with or without lighting.
Materials and options
Materials and finishes
- Oak, dark-stained (as in the concept)Hard and stable. Dark stain makes lit bottles stand out but can wear pale on cradle lips where bottles slide in and out; we agree the finish with you.
- AshPale with a strong grain, for a lighter, more Nordic wall; it also takes a dark stain if you want the concept's colour.
- WalnutNaturally dark without stain; a sensible choice for the counter or the cradle fronts, with oak or ash for the frame behind.
- Other speciesBirch and maple are also available for a pale wall, black alder for a warm tone that stains evenly, or a painted frame. Tell us if it is a cellar.
Personalisation
Your logo engraved on the front of the tasting counter, where guests see it during a pour, or on a header board above the cradles (not shown in the concept). Row or region markers on the cradle fronts can be engraved too.
From request to production
- Your briefTell us how you will use it, how many you need and whether you want a logo.
- Drawing and 3D reviewReview the design from each side on a private page.
- Quote and approvalPrice and scope agreed before anything is made.
- Prototype or productionFor a series, one prototype first; a single piece is made once approved.
Your measurements and photos become a drawing showing cradle spacing, reach and light positions. The prototype is one bay, filled with your bottles, plus a test strip if lighting is agreed; then the full wall.

Questions
Can you build a custom wine wall to fit my room?
Yes. We build to your measured size, from one bay in a home cellar to a floor-to-ceiling tasting-room wall, with the drawing allowing for uneven floors, ceilings and walls. Fitting and fixing are confirmed per project. Lit cradle walls we built for a Riga wine boutique are on our interiors page.
Can the wall fit a cellar alcove or a low, uneven ceiling?
Often, yes. The cellar view on this page is an illustration: the rack is drawn to the alcove's measured width and height, with the gaps to uneven brick or plaster planned on the drawing. How it is fitted and fixed in the space is confirmed per project, once we have seen it.
How much does a custom wine wall cost?
Each wall is quoted per project, because the work depends on its size, the wood, the number of cradles and whether it is lit. Send the wall size with photos, the bottle formats you stock and the wood you want.
