Wooden wine gift box for one bottle

AI concept for a wooden wine gift box for one bottle: an ash box with a hinged lid, a leather strap, a shaped cradle and a brass plate inside the lid for a name or vintage. For wineries, wine shops, companies and private buyers; our workshop in Riga builds it to order around your bottle.

The idea images on this page are AI concepts — design ideas, not photos of finished work; final construction and scope are agreed for your project. The photo marked “Real work” is from our workshop.

Decisions to make

Cradle fit and bottle shape

We shape the cradle to your real bottle; Bordeaux, Burgundy and sparkling bottles differ at the shoulder and base. A close fit suits one bottle shape, while a slightly open fit lets one box take two similar shapes. How the box protects the bottle in transport is confirmed per project.

How the lid reveals the bottle

The concept shows a hinged lid held by a slim leather strap, so opening it reveals the bottle and the plate together. Keep the strap, choose another closure or none; the hinges and how far the lid opens are agreed on the drawing.

What the brass plate is for

The blank plate inside the lid is the personal part: a recipient and occasion, a vintage, or an edition number for a limited release. Keep it, change it or leave it off. A named or numbered series needs a list from you, one line per box.

Suggested uses

Numbered reserve releases

A winery or distillery releasing a small reserve puts the vintage and an edition number on each brass plate, so every box records its own bottle.

Birth-year and anniversary bottles

A wine shop selling a vintage for a birthday, wedding or retirement offers the box with a name, a date and the occasion on the plate.

One bottle per client

A company sending one bottle to each client or partner has its logo engraved on the lid and each recipient's name on the plate, with the same box across the series.

A private gift

A private buyer with one bottle to give, or one worth keeping, orders a single box made around it, with a name or date on the plate, or no plate at all.

Materials and options

Materials and finishes

  • Ash (as in the concept)Pale, with a straight open grain that shows the visible corner joints clearly. Tough at the lid edge, but the light surface shows handling marks sooner.
  • OakWarmer than ash, with visible ray fleck, and the wood of our real oak chest. It reads as traditional and sits well with older vintages.
  • WalnutDark and dense. The brass plate stands out against it, but an engraved logo on the lid has less contrast than on ash.
  • Other speciesBirch and maple are also available for a pale box close to ash, black alder for a warm brown, or a painted box. We check joints, lid and cradle first.

Personalisation

Your logo engraved on the lid or front panel, seen before the box opens. For a branded series with no personal text, the brass plate inside the lid can carry your logo or the wine's name instead. Placement is agreed on the drawing.

From request to production

  1. Your briefTell us how you will use it, how many you need and whether you want a logo.
  2. Drawing and 3D reviewReview the design from each side on a private page.
  3. Quote and approvalPrice and scope agreed before anything is made.
  4. Prototype or productionFor a series, one prototype first; a single piece is made once approved.

For this box, the drawing and 3D review show the cradle, lid, strap and plate around your bottle's measurements. On the prototype we check how the bottle seats in the cradle and how the lid closes over it.

Questions

Can the box be made for a spirits bottle, a magnum or an unusual shape?

Usually, yes. We shape the cradle to the bottle you send, so a spirits bottle or a squat, wide-shouldered wine bottle can be fitted; for a magnum or larger, the box's size and strength are confirmed per project. Send a sample bottle, or its height, diameter and shoulder profile.

Can each box be personalised with a name or date?

Yes. Send the list of names, dates, vintages or edition numbers, one line per box. We lay the text out on the drawing so you can see how it fits the plate before anything is engraved. Without a plate, the text can be engraved into the wood of the lid instead.

Can the box hold a tasting note or gift card as well?

It can. The concept shows only the bottle and the brass plate, but a slot in the lid or a recess beside the cradle can take a tasting note, a story card or a gift card, agreed on the drawing. Send the card size with your brief.
