Two-bottle wooden wine box with sliding lid

AI concept for a wooden two-bottle wine box: oak, visible corner joints, a partition between the bottles and a sliding lid with an engraved monogram. For wineries, wine shops, companies and private customers sending paired gifts; our workshop in Riga builds it to order, with each slot sized to your bottles.

The idea images on this page are AI concepts — design ideas, not photos of finished work; final construction and scope are agreed for your project. The photo marked “Real work” is from our workshop.

Decisions to make

Partition and slot size

Each bottle lies in its own slot, sized from your real bottles; if they differ, say a sparkling and a still wine, each slot gets its own width. Send both, or the height and widest diameter of each.

Lid fit and pull

The sliding lid runs in grooves cut into the sides. Too tight and it sticks in damp air; too loose and it rattles, so we check the fit on the prototype with your bottles inside. The pull can be the finger notch shown, a deeper cut-out or a small raised grip.

The mark on the lid

The concept shows an engraved monogram on the lid, which is what people see on a shelf. We keep it clear of the finger notch, where hands would wear it. Choose one monogram, your logo, both wines or both vintages named, or a blank lid.

Suggested uses

Red and white pairing gifts

A winery sending one red and one white to trade partners or club members. Each bottle has its own slot, the partition keeps the glass apart, and the lid carries your logo with both wines named.

Vertical tastings

Two vintages of the same wine, sold or gifted as a pair. With both years engraved on the lid, the box explains the tasting before anyone slides it open.

A pair of bottles for a couple

One bottle from the year they met and one from the year they married, with both initials engraved as one monogram where the concept shows its monogram.

Client gifts in a series

A company sending two bottles to each client keeps one box design across the series, with its logo on the lid and, if wanted, each recipient's name on one end.

Materials and options

Materials and finishes

  • Oak (as in the concept)Hard-wearing where the lid slides in its grooves and strong at the corner joints; heavier than ash.
  • WalnutDark and fine-grained, so an engraved monogram shows with less contrast. We can test the mark on an offcut first.
  • AshPale, so an engraved mark has good contrast, though strong grain can break up fine lettering on the lid.
  • Other speciesMaple and birch are also available: fine-grained, so a monogram stays crisp on the sliding lid. Black alder gives a softer brown, and a painted box is possible.

Personalisation

Your logo engraved on the sliding lid, where the concept shows a monogram. A second, smaller mark can go on one end of the box, so it reads when boxes stand end-on on a shelf, or under the lid, seen only when it slides open.

From request to production

  1. Your briefTell us how you will use it, how many you need and whether you want a logo.
  2. Drawing and 3D reviewReview the design from each side on a private page.
  3. Quote and approvalPrice and scope agreed before anything is made.
  4. Prototype or productionFor a series, one prototype first; a single piece is made once approved.

Your bottle sizes set the slot widths and the partition on the drawing. The prototype is tried with your real bottles, to check the slots, how the lid slides and how the engraving reads on the wood.

Questions

Can the two slots be different sizes, for example for a sparkling and a still wine?

Yes. Each slot is sized to its own bottle, so a wider sparkling bottle and a slimmer still wine each get their own width and length, and the partition is placed to suit both. Send both bottles, or the height and widest diameter of each.

How does the sliding lid stay closed?

By its fit in the grooves cut into the sides of the box, with the pull you choose at one end. Closure is agreed and tested for your bottles.

How much does a custom two-bottle wooden wine box cost?

It is quoted per project. What changes the quote is the wood, the size of your bottles, whether each lid carries its own name or vintage, and how many boxes you need. Send your bottle sizes, logo and quantity through the form on this page.
