About this piece
Photographed on the workbench before fitting, this plate curves across its width in a smooth arc. Its face is gold-tone metal with a mirror finish, so it reflects the room around it. The name is engraved across the middle in widely spaced serif capitals, and a thin dark line runs just inside the top and bottom edges.
A flat plate on a round column or a curved wall leaves gaps at the edges, while a plate made to the curve sits close along its whole width. A mirror finish suits entrances with stone, glass or polished metal around them. Depending on the angle, the engraving reads dark or bright, as the photo shows.
Plates like this are cut and engraved in our Riga workshop and made to the curve of the surface they will sit on. Send us the wording, the plate size and the diameter of the column or the shape of the wall; we draw the plate and you check it in 3D on a private page first. The finish, the typeface, the border line and the number of plates are yours to set, from one plate to a series.

Questions
What do you need to know to make a plate fit a curved surface?
The width and height of the plate and the curve it has to follow: the diameter of a column, or a template or measurements of the wall. We draw the plate to that curve, and you check it in 3D before production.
How does lettering look on a mirror finish?
On this plate the dark capitals stand out against the reflective face, and the look changes with the angle of the light. The 3D drawing shows the letter size and spacing, so you can judge them before anything is made.
