About this piece
Above the door of a furniture shop, a wide black panel carries the shop name in raised white serif capitals, inside a raised white border that follows the edge of the panel. A smaller plate in a gold-tone finish overlaps the bottom of the panel and holds one more word in the same white letters. The black panel has depth, so it reads as a solid box against the orange wall rather than a flat board.
A facade sign is read from the pavement and from across the street, often at an angle and in changing light. White letters contrast strongly with the black panel, and the gold-tone plate gives the second line its own place, so the name and the type of shop are read separately. Centred under the cornice and over the doorway, the sign sits where people look for a name.
We build facade signs like this in our workshop in Riga: panels and letters are cut by laser cutting or CNC milling, and the colours are sprayed in our own spray room. Can the second plate carry a different line or colour?
Yes. The plate under the main panel is a piece of its own, here gold-tone with white letters. It can carry any short line, such as what you sell or your opening hours, in a colour that suits your facade.
How do we give you the size for a facade sign?
Send the width and height of the free wall above the door and a straight-on photo of the facade. We draw the sign to fit that space, and you check it in 3D on a private page before anything is made.
