About this piece
The word Staircase appears twice at the left end of this long, narrow black strip, which was photographed standing on its edge. Both lines are in gold-tone capitals: a larger line on top and a smaller one below it, moved slightly to the right. The rest of the strip is plain black, so the lettering has plenty of space around it.
A strip like this suits the space above a door, the narrow wall beside it or the head of a corridor, places with more width than height. Two lines of different sizes are often used for two languages, with the main language on top and the second underneath, and the same layout can run across a whole building, from the stairs to the meeting rooms.
We set the lettering from your sign list and draw each strip to its length, then you check the design in 3D on a private page. Lettering on signs like this can be engraved or cut, and the black and gold-tone can change for colours sprayed in our own spray room. Words, languages, typeface, length, height and fixing are yours to choose, for one staircase sign or a whole floor of door labels. The quote is agreed before production, and a series starts with one prototype.

Questions
Can the second line be in another language?
Yes. Two lines of different sizes suit a main language on top and a second one below. Send the wording in both languages; we set it in your typeface, and you check spelling and layout on the 3D design before anything is made.
Can the strips be made to different lengths?
Yes. Each strip is drawn to its own length, so a short label for a door and a long one for a wall can share the same height, lettering and colours. List the lengths in your sign schedule and we draw the full set.
