About this piece
The whole sign is one cut piece. Serif capitals stand along a straight bar, joined to it at their feet, and the bar runs on past the letters to an arrowhead at one end and a small round disc at the other. The metal has a warm gold tone with a satin face, the cut edges show the thickness of the sheet, and the letters cast a crisp shadow on the white surface behind them.
A name with an arrow says both what is there and which way to go. Signs like this hang on a corridor wall, at the foot of a staircase or beside a courtyard gate, where a guest needs a direction more than a large logo. Because the letters are cut out, the wall shows through their open parts and around them, and the shadow gives the name depth without any lighting.
We make cut-metal signs like this in our Riga workshop by laser cutting, which follows serifs and the small openings inside letters closely. Send the wording, your typeface if you have one, the length and the direction of the arrow; we draw the sign, and you check it in 3D on a private page before it is cut. The finish can be gold-tone or a colour sprayed in our own spray room, and we make one sign or a matching set.

Questions
Can the arrow point the other way or sit under the name?
Yes. The arrow is part of the same cut piece, so it can point left or right, run under the name or above it, or be left off. We draw the version you need, and you check it in 3D before we cut it.
Can the same outline be cut in another material?
Yes. The same drawing can be cut from steel, acrylic or wood in our workshop, and painted in our spray room if you want a colour. Each material gives a different edge and shadow, so tell us where the sign will hang and we suggest one.
