About this piece
Three numerals, 3, 2 and 5, and a straight bar are cut here as one part with no joins. The bar runs under the numerals at a slight upward angle and carries on past the first and the last, so the number steps up from left to right. The numerals have tapered, curving strokes, and the whole piece has a brushed gold-tone surface with some darker, warmer tones in it.
Without a plate behind it, the number sits directly on the wall or the door, and the surface around it, whether painted plaster, timber or tile, does the framing. Cutting the numerals and the bar as one part keeps the spacing fixed, so every number in a series sits at the same angle and nothing has to be lined up digit by digit.

Questions
Can you cut our own typeface this way?
Usually, yes. Each numeral has to meet the bar at a solid point, so we draw the join for every digit and show you the result in 3D before anything is cut. Very thin or decorative typefaces may need small changes, which you see in the drawing.
Can the bar run level instead of rising?
Yes. The bar can run level under the numerals, rise or fall, or sit above them, and it can stop at the last numeral instead of running past it. The angle and the length are set in the drawing you approve.
