About this piece

Room 330, a long bar and an arrowhead make up this black sign, all cut from one sheet. Each digit is drawn in thin, square-cornered strokes, and the three of them stand on the bar, which runs to the right and ends in two angled strokes that form the arrow. At the point of the arrow, a small white block joins the sign to a black wall plate with four screw holes.

Fixed by its plate, the sign stands out at right angles to the wall, so people walking down the corridor see it before they reach the door. The thin digits keep it light, and because number, bar and arrow are one part, there are no separate digits to line up or work loose.

Digits, bar and arrow are drawn as one outline; we make sure every join is strong enough and send the design for you to check in 3D on a private page. Signs like this are laser-cut from sheet as a single outline, then finished in black or another colour from our own spray room. For your version, change the numbers, the typeface, the direction of the arrow, the colour of the joining block and the size of the wall plate. One sign or a full corridor: there is no minimum order, and a series starts with one prototype.

What to send us for a quote

  • The list of numbers, names or directions you need (a sign schedule)
  • The style: a photo or a sketch of what you like
  • How they will be fixed: screws, tape or a projecting bracket
  • The size, and how many of each

No minimum order: one piece, a prototype or a full series.

Questions

Which way should the arrow point on a projecting sign?

That depends on where the room is from the spot where people read the sign. Mark the sign positions and the doors on a floor plan, and we draw each arrow to suit; you check every direction in 3D before production.

Can it match the room numbers we already have?

We can draw the digits in the typeface of your existing signs or in a line style like this one. Send a photo of a current sign beside a ruler, and we match the height and style in the drawing you check in 3D.
